RULES OF PLAY

The 50/50 lottery is a collaborative fundraiser for the Almonte General Hospital Foundation and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte.  All proceeds from this lottery will be equally shared between both the Almonte General Hospital Foundation and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte.  50% of proceeds from this lottery will be issued to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte via cheque from the Almonte General Hospital-Fairview Manor Foundation, who are the lottery license holders.

Eligibility

Ticket purchasers must be 18 years or older to enter the Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle.

Ticket purchasers must be in Ontario at the time of purchase.

The following persons are prohibited from purchasing tickets in the Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle:

·         Almonte General Hospital Foundation staff and Board of Directors, as well as members of the Hospital Executive Team and Hospital Board of Directors

·         Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte staff and Board of Directors

·         Employees of registered gaming suppliers

·         And members of the same household of each of the above.

 

Ticket Sales

All tickets must be purchased in the province of Ontario.

 

50/50 Bonus Raffle

Tickets may be purchased online at catchtheacealmonte.ca, in person with Point-of-Sale (POS) machines at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte located on 100 Bridge St., Almonte, ON, K0A 1A0 and at the Almonte General Hospital Foundation office, 75 Spring St., Almonte, ON, K0A 1A0.

50/50 jackpot will start at $5,000.

50/50 tickets will be available to purchase and can only be purchased at the time a Catch the Ace ticket is purchased.  You cannot purchase a 50/50 ticket without the initial purchase of a Catch the Ace ticket.

The 50/50 lottery will run from December 17, 2025 until January 14, 2026.  The final day to purchase a 50/50 ticket will be on January 14, 2026 at 11:30am, followed by the final draw at 12:00pm.  After the final draw, 50/50 tickets will be unavailable to purchase. 

50/50 ticket prices are as follows:

·         1 chance for $10

·         100 chances for $25

·         500 chances for $50 

·         2,500 chances for $100

 

Catch the Ace and 50/50 Bundle Pack

For purchasers who are interested in a simple way to buy tickets for both lotteries, Catch the Ace and 50/50 Bundle Pack prices are available to purchase.  Pricing for it is as follows:

·         40 CTA chances + 100 50/50 chances for $45

·         40 CTA chances + 200 50/50 chances for $60

·         500 CTA chances + 500 50/50 chances for $100

There is no limit to the number of ticket numbers available. 

All tickets will be delivered via email for online purchases and printed for in-person purchases. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure that they receive and retain their ticket(s).

Draws, Prizes & Winners

Ticket sales will begin on December 17, 2025 and conclude on January 14, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.  at which time all qualified tickets will be confirmed.  

There will be two (2) Early Bird Draws where the winner from each early bird draw will win a $250 gift card to Levi Home Hardware.  Early Bird Draws are December 31, 2025 and January 7, 2026, and will be announced at 12:00PM on December 31, 2025 and January 7, 2026.

To be eligible for the Early Bird draw on December 31, 2025, tickets must be purchased no later than 11:30 a.m. on December 31, 2025.

To be eligible for the Early Bird draw on January 7, 2026, tickets must be purchased no later than 11:30 a.m. on January 7, 2026.

 

All purchased 50/50 tickets are eligible for all the Early Bird draws and the final 50/50 draw.

Tickets that were drawn for both Early Bird draws are still eligible for the final 50/50 draw.

The winner of the final 50/50 draw will be announced on January 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

If the Ace of Spades is caught in the Catch the Ace lottery before the final 50/50 draw on January 14, 2026, the 50/50 lottery will remain open until the final draw.  All lottery bundles will be removed, with only the option to purchase 50/50 tickets until the final draw on January 14, 2026.

If the Ace is still in play in the Catch the Ace lottery during the 50/50 final draw on January 14, 2026, all 50/50 tickets and combined Catch the Ace and 50/50 lottery bundles will be unavailable to purchase.  Only Catch the Ace tickets will be available for purchase until the Ace is caught, with the continuation of the Catch the Ace weekly draws.

A single ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) program, from all raffle ticket numbers sold during the month leading up to the draw. The draw will be electronically conducted from the Almonte General Hospital Foundation office, 75 Spring St., Almonte, ON, K0A 1A0 on January 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

The winner of the final 50/50 draw will receive 50 percent of the final pot.  The Almonte General Hospital will receive the remaining 50 percent of the final pot.

The winning ticket number will be posted on the Almonte General Hospital Foundation Facebook page @AGHFVM, on the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240, Almonte, Facebook page @Branch240, and on the CatchtheAceAlmonte.ca website, as well as at Branch 240, Royal Canadian Legion, Almonte, 100 Bridge St., Almonte, ON K0A 1A0. [ba1] Winners that bought their tickets online will also be notified by phone. Winners that bought their tickets in-person must contact the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation and present the winning ticket for validation.

The winners of the two (2) early bird draws will each receive a $250 gift card to Levi Home Hardware in Canadian funds.

The winner of the final draw will receive their prize via cheque in Canadian funds.

 

Prize Claim[ba2] 

The Almonte General Hospital Foundation reserves the right to satisfy itself as to the validity of any ticket that is presented as a winning ticket, by means of such authentication and validation tests, requirements, and procedures as it may from time to time determine, and to declare that a ticket which does not pass, meet, or fulfill such tests, requirements or procedures is void. Concurrently with a winning ticket being presented to the Almonte General Hospital Foundation (or being received by the Almonte General Hospital Foundation by mail), whether for the purpose of validation or for the purpose of claiming a prize, all right, title and interest in and to the ticket is thereby relinquished by the winner and property in the ticket passes to the Almonte General Hospital Foundation.

All prizes must be claimed within six months of the relevant draw unless otherwise specified by the Almonte General Hospital Foundation thereafter any unclaimed prizes must be secured or placed in safekeeping by the Almonte General Hospital Foundation for a period of six months from the date of the draw. If at the expiry of six months the prize has not been claimed, the prize monies will be donated by the Almonte General Hospital Foundation to a beneficiary approved in advance by the Registrar.

Almonte General Hospital Foundation may refuse to send or forward a prize to an address outside Ontario and will not send or forward a prize to an address in any jurisdiction where such sending or forwarding is prohibited by law.

Neither a prize (or portion thereof), nor any entitlement or payment relating to it, may be assigned, transferred, sold, loaned, leased, rented, pledged, mortgaged, or hypothecated, by any winner.

The Almonte General Hospital Foundation is not responsible for providing financial or tax advice.

The Almonte General Hospital Foundation will not award a prize for tickets which are void unless the Almonte General Hospital Foundation, in its discretion, deems it appropriate to do so. Tickets are void if lost, stolen, unissued, illegible, mutilated, damaged, altered, counterfeited or forged, miscut, misregistered, defective, misprinted, cancelled, produced in error and not recorded in the on-line system, incomplete, not paid for, destroyed or issued, acquired or presented, in, or upon, violation of these Rules, or the Game Conditions. Void tickets are the property of the Almonte General Hospital Foundation.

Ticket holders do not have to be present at the draws to win or to claim their prize.

 Each winner acknowledges that the Almonte General Hospital Foundation may, at any time (and from time to time), during the prize claim process, require certain personal information from the winner and that the collection of such information, including a government-issued photo ID, is necessary to the proper administration. Any personal information collected is intended to be used for following principal purposes: to comply with legal and audit requirements, for publicly announcing winner names and hometowns, awarding prizes, disclosure of insider wins for public scrutiny, and the posting of prize wins on Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s raffle website for an extended period of time, and otherwise in accordance with Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s prize claim policy and any successors or replacement thereof, and for Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s internal business purposes.

By participating in Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s 50/50, each winner consents the right for Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation to publish the name, place of residence, a recent photograph, and video content reflecting a true current appearance of the winner (without any claim for broadcasting, printing, royalty or other rights or compensation).[ba3] 

 

General

By purchasing a ticket in the Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these rules. All inquiries regarding the conduct, chance of winning, prizing or procedures of lotteries are to be made to the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation, prior to the purchase of a ticket.

All orders will be processed and fulfilled using the Canada Bank Note (CBN) raffle management platform. In the event of any discrepancy, the records of CBN shall be deemed correct and final. Almonte General Hospital Foundation is responsible for the conduct and management of the raffle. The liability of the licensee shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

 

Privacy

Almonte General Hospital Foundation respects the privacy of its raffle supporters; we do not sell, rent, or trade our supporter lists. The information we collect is used to process raffle ticket purchases, keep our supporters informed about the activities of Almonte General Hospital Foundation, and ask for their support of our mission. If at any time you wish to be excluded from such contacts, call us at the Almonte General Hospital Foundation’s offices and we will accommodate your request.
